Hexagonal LED Lamp with USB chargeable 18650 battery
thingiverse
So this is my very first project that's available on thingiverse. I'm still new to 3D printing, but I am extremely happy with how this design turned out and the results from the print itself. The lamp consists of four separate printed parts - body, inlay, diffusor, and a holder for the TP4056 charging circuit. With the built-in USB charging circuit featuring overcharge and overdischarge protection that I found on eBay and the 18650 battery, this lamp is incredibly useful for lighting up your next garden party, camping trip, or simply serving as a night light. Depending on the battery capacity you choose, this light will work for dozens of hours before it needs to be recharged using a standard one-amp USB charger. To build this project, you'll need just a few extra hardware components: One 18650 rechargeable lithium-ion battery that snaps into the body. One TP4056 charging circuit - I ordered five pieces on eBay for three bucks. One LED of your choice. I recommend using a straw-headed power LED. One suitable resistor for the LED. One standard twenty-millimeter circular or thirteen by nineteen millimeter rectangular rocker switch. If you're using a three-position switch, you can use two different resistors for dimmed and full light output. Some pieces of wire to solder everything together, along with two strips of copper or something similar for contacting the battery. The circuit holder was originally designed by Edued and fits perfectly with my lamp - thank you! You can find the original design here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2154115 I made a few minor changes to the design, including adding a cut-out for charging LEDs so that the charging status is visible through the diffusor if you print the inlay with transparent material. I've uploaded two versions of the body with different cut-outs for the rocker switch - one for twenty-millimeter circular and the other for thirteen by nineteen millimeter rectangular. For the diffusor, I designed both a short and long version.
