Hexagonal game tile bases and cutters

Hexagonal game tile bases and cutters

thingiverse

A friend is handcrafting a game featuring hexagonal figures. They use epoxy modeling clay and miniature figure-making materials. Observing their manual base cutting, I proposed to print plastic bases for them or create a convenient hexagon "cookie-cutter" for aligned pieces. The hexagons measure 33mm per side or 66mm diagonally, smaller than Catan's 45mm sides and 90mm diagonals. My friend's code is parametric, allowing compatibility adjustments. Version history includes: - 0.3: Added comments, cleaned up code - Implemented Parametric Variables - 0.2: Switched to a 6-sided conical frustrum - 0.1: Initial attempt using extruded 6-sided polygon Instructions involve selecting piece size, modifying .scad variables, choosing base/cutter using is_base variables, and entering printer's layer_height for hollow bases. Save, generate shape, export .stl, print bases or cutters as needed, trim rough edges, shape materials, and enjoy playing!
