Hexagonal Advent Calendar / Small Parts Organizer (Laser Cut)

This is a 24-drawer advent calendar crafted with precision on an hexagonal base. Three sides boast 8 drawers each, while seasonal decorations adorn the spaces between them. Perched atop this festive structure are a miniature house, a sleigh, and a tree. A laser cutter can easily bring this design to life using 4mm plywood, except for the icicle, which should be crafted from acrylic. I've included OpenSCAD and Blender source files used in designing this project, allowing you to build upon it and create your own advent calendar with varying dimensions. The drawers measure 84 x 48 x 44mm inside, while the entire box, complete with its rooftop house and chimney, stands approximately 450mm tall. The hexagonal base plate spans 286mm from side to side or 330mm between opposite corners. To construct this advent calendar, you'll need eight sheets of 4mm plywood, each measuring 600x300mm, totaling around 1.44m^2. A single SVG file, adventcalendar1.svg, contains all the necessary designs, broken down into eight pages for easy cutting and assembly on a 600x300mm sheet. Cutting is the only process required, as no engraving is involved. For an added touch, consider inserting red paper and illuminating it with LEDs from within, or simply paint it to give your advent calendar a personal flair. The structure's versatility allows it to serve as a storage box for small parts, and you're free to modify the artwork to suit your taste.
