Hexagon HotEnd cooler (40mm fan) for OrdBot Hadron and BulldogXL Extruder
thingiverse
I'm going to take apart the BulldogXL Extruder and give it a Hexagon HotEnd upgrade with a 40mm fan that's just what I need for the OrdBot Hadron - it's time to get the air moving! The new cooler will simply attach with one screw, which just so happens to be holding down the BullDog right now. Don't bother changing screws yet; we'll use an M3x20mm instead of the M3x16 originally holding everything in place. By hooking up both coolers on permanent 12V power, I can enjoy top-notch cooling and never have to worry about a thing! Now that I've got this baby with my trusty 40mm fan, no amount of PLA or NYLON has been able to clog up my Hexagon anymore. Since we're dealing with the smaller Nozzle on my PLA setup (it's only 0.5mm in diameter), it helps me get a tighter retraction by as little as 0.2mm - and if things are still acting funny, try using just 0.1 or zero for even less drag, then take another look at the nozzle print temp - for all I know we might just find what we're after with a mere change in temps to make everything fall into place
