Hexagon Hat Hook

Hexagon Hat Hook

I don't know why the images got blown up when I uploaded them to the site, the file and prints are PERFECT hexagons! When I started this project, I wanted to create a hat hook that would be perfect for supporting baseball caps and straw hats, while still looking great even when not in use. I chose to go with a minimalist look that could easily be adapted for other uses like organizing wires and scarves. I knew from the start that I didn't want to deal with a mounting bracket, so I drilled 2 key holes for screws. My first iteration was my very first solo 3D print, and I had trouble with the filament curling up. It created a unique texture that I actually liked, but unfortunately, the texture wasn't consistent on all sides (see image 1). After fixing my settings, I ran into more issues with the filament cooling because the fan was cooling it unevenly (see image 2). I switched to a new printer for the third print, which turned out really well (see image 3), but the same can't be said for print 4 (see image 4). In print 4, I modified one of the hexagons to create a more traditional hook. With print 5, I changed the orientation of the print to fix the previous issues and added a third hexagon traditional hook (see image 6). The result was fantastic!
