Hexagon-Dome Fan Guard 40mm screwless

If you made this thing and are happy with it I kindly ask to give it a shout! ================================================================== Update! Improved.stl is a new one, 3mm thick and recessed for those who do not want to widen the bores (not for the guards) for the cylinder-screws and want to use counter-sink-screws instead. ====================================================== Although there are many real 3d fan-guards and some screwless ones, I did not find a combination of both, or at least one I liked. So I made one. It is not just an optical thing, the aerodynamics is better with this design which leaves some space between mesh and fan. With the flat designs some fans audibly stall for lack of incoming air. Due to the pins it surely is an awkward job printing it, the look of it is worth the effort, though. In my experience it is best to be printed with the pins down and the mesh up using a raft and supports. Low temperature and speed for best results. As with all my designs there is no or only little give implemented! Just some little sanding or cleaning with a knife at the pins is enough to fit perfectly. It is designed for pabst fans with 3.2-3.4mm bores. For bigger bores I made good experience with some melting glue at the pins. Once the glue has hardened the guard even can be de-and reassembled. Print Settings Printer: CTC Dual Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.1 Infill: 100 Notes: PLA 205°C 40mm/s (slower got worse for some reason/ooze)
