Hex shelf insert paint tray
thingiverse
This is an insert shelf that fits perfectly within the hex shelf available from The Range in the UK. But if you have a hex shelf with an internal dimension of 186mm, it should work just fine for you (measured carefully from one side to the opposite side). You'll need to print 2 full hex inserts out (or 4 half inserts) and then print 4 joining arms. When printing, I used an 8mm brim so my shelf stuck to the bed correctly. You may need to use a raft instead. A bit of minor sanding might be needed to get a snug fit within the shelf, as well as for the support arms to fit into the slots. I glued my support arms in place to hold everything together more solidly. To fill the gap between the front panel and the back, I used an Army Painter bottle laid on its side (about 25mm if you want to measure it out). I use mine with The Army Painter paints and some 12 ml dropper bottles, so any bottle in that size range should fit just fine. Vallejo paints are a bit of a tighter fit, but a quick sanding of the openings will give you the needed space.
