Hex key guide for rebound adjustment knob on Fox Step Cast 32 forks
thingiverse
The Fox Step Cast 32 is a fantastic fork. Rebuilding one isn't significantly more complicated than with standard Fox forks, except that the hex nuts securing the air spring and damper shafts in the fork legs are recessed quite far up into the fork legs. Accessing these nuts isn't challenging if you have an extension for your socket, but the rebound damper is much trickier, as it's held on using a small screw with a 2mm hex head. Not only is the rebound knob deeper than most 2mm hex wrenches, it's also sunk pretty deep in the fork, making it _really_ tricky to reach. This tool makes that job easier. To use - simply print this tool out and insert it into the end of the rebound adjuster knob. As long as you have a long enough 2mm hex, it'll pass through the middle and guide itself to the right spot. The tool also serves to hold the rebound adjuster knob in place so adjustments don't change during the rebuild. (It's still a good idea to know your settings before opening the fork.) This prints fine with no supports needed.
