Hex Driver Bit Holder
thingiverse
This is a driver-bit holding system with multiple Holder and Rack sizes. It holds 1/4” hex driver bits which have a groove partway down the shank as seen in the photos. This will not work for smaller bits that don’t have a groove. See the video below for an overview. The Holders house multiple bits. They have a satisfying and secure “snap” action using flexible tabs to retain the bits. No magnets or extra hardware is needed. There is thumb access which allows for easy bit extraction. There are many sizes so you can print the exact size/fit you want. See the “Files” and “Sizing” sections below for more details. If all the instructions and options are too overwhelming, and you just want to get printing, then try printing “Holder, 10 Pc, 05” for a loose fit or “Holder, 10 Pc, 13” for a more snug fit. I have found that these are decent fits for most bits. If you are picky about the fit, then follow the more detailed information and instructions below. I have also designed Racks that house multiple Holders. There are a few different versions that support different quantities of Holders. Some are made to sit on a table, and some are made to mount to a wall. All sizes of Racks fit all sizes of Holders. Note that the Rack design enables individual bits to be extracted from its Holder while still in the Rack. To better organize the files, all Racks are on a separate page.
