Hex Bowl 01
thingiverse
I've created a Simple bowl made out of hexagons for displaying fruit perfectly, designed to bring joy :). Modeled using professional software, Maya. Instructions I've uploaded a round version of this design that can be easily scaled to fit any build volume requirements. You'll see the bowl in my pictures has an ovoid shape which was necessary to accommodate my printer's capabilities. This Simple bowl for fruit display has been successfully printed on Makerbot Replicator (1) machines. I used removable lexan platform during printing and switched off the Heat Bed Probe feature. I chose a bold Extruded Neon Blue PLA with a print temperature of 230 degrees, along with some impressive settings like a layer height of 200 micron, a modest infill density of 10%, and a wall thickness of 2 shells. If you want your hexagon bowls to turn out more flawlessly, you may wish to consider adding supports while printing, especially for avoiding small "eyelashes" at the bottom of the hexagons which might occur from certain angle print jobs. Please note that not using support resulted in approximately 7 hours of printing time for my bowl in the pics displayed above.
