Hex base for Battletech boxed game standees
thingiverse
I thought Pixatintes' Hex stand was a design that stood out immediately, especially given Catalyst's free print-it-on-paper test-drive of the game and the fact that hex bases were designed to hold paper-prints of mechs. I decided to print one out for the cardboard standees in the Battletech boxed games Beginner's Box and A Game Of Armoured Combat, but the gap for the paper was too narrow for the cardboard version. A quick measurement revealed the average thickness, and a swift edit to the "hollow" version later, I had exactly what I needed. Pixatintes' design features an arrowhead on the forward facing side and a rectangle on the rear facing side, making it easier to identify the model's actual placement and facing on the map without having to pick it up for a closer look.
