Human: edit: 07/19 : Added version for LM8(L)UU-2020-F694 version on a request. edit: 04/08/19: - Added Y endstop flag - Fixed pulleys position both variants - Pulley pockets for the F694 variant changed to "trough all" to allow using screws (or dowell pins) - Added 0.8mm space to the pulleys posts for the F694 variant to allow for a 4mm ID washer in between to avoid belt protrusion.. edit: 03/04/19 - Shortened 3mm so it doesn't go out of the boundaries of the frame An Y carriage for the Hypercube Evolution printer to allow mounting a 2020 or 1515 extrusion profile for X. This opens lots of opportunities - like a MGN12/MGN9 linear rail or why not a carriage from a Creality CR10 for example. A 2020 + MGN9 is lighter maybe twice if not more then the stock 8mm steel rods with LM bearings, and at the same time will not sag at all and should be much more stable mechanically ! 1515 is even lighter and should be also strong enough for the application though definitely not as stable as the 2020. I know there is a similar mod that uses a MGN9 stand-alone, but these rails are meant to be mounted on a profile otherwise it is more then likely they won't be perfectly straight. Please note that I am actively working on this design, and this is early stage. I plan to work on my own X gantry, as I have few ideas I want to experiment with, but meanwhile you can check Ed Niedziejko's great remix for use with a linear rail. Variants: - HEVO-Y10-2020-F694 - 10MM Y with LMMU bearings, 2020 profile and F694 bearings. BOM: - Printed two of each halves (-1 and -2 STLs) - Piece of 2020 profile (length - see notes bellow) - 8xM3x35 screws if you screw into plastic (or M3x40 if you want to use nuts) - 8x F694 (4x11x12.5mm) flanged bearings - 4x 4mm ID washers to go between F694 halves to avoid belt protrusion (max OD 11mm, max height ~0.8mm) - 8x M5x10 cap head screws - 8x M5 T-nuts for 2020 profile (you may consider ordering ~10x M3-2020 as well while there - you will need them to mount the MGN rail later) - HEVO-Y10-1515-stock-pulley - 10MM Y with LMMU bearings, 1515 profile and stock pulleys BOM: - Printed two of each halves (-1 and -2 STLs) - Piece of [1515 profile](http://ali.onl/1fgS) (length? - see notes bellow) - a set of stock pulleys that usually go with the Y carriages - 8x M3x35 screws if you screw into plastic (or M3x40 if you want to use nuts) - 8x F694 (4x11x12.5mm) flanged bearings - 4x 4mm ID washers to go between F694 halves to avoid belt protrusion (max OD 11mm, max height ~0.8mm) - 8x M5x10 cap head screws - 8x M5 T-nuts for 1515 profile (you may consider also ordering ~10x M3-1515 as well while there - you will need them to mount the MGN9 rail later) Notes: - Length of the extrusion profile you need? Measure the distance between outer sides of the 10mm Y rods on your HEVO build and subtract 46mm . In my case 460-46=414mm. But I had a 410mm piece, which also worked fine - I am using a [19mm reamer](http://ali.onl/1feV) to cut the pocket for the LMMU10 bearings to exact size. If you don't intend to use a reamer, you may need to sand it a bit to make LM10 fit without bending the plastic - Print settings? I used PETG with 3 perimeters and 40% infill "Gyroid (Cura)" for strength. Honestly, the result exceeds expectations- it's really rock solid. - For the M3x35mm screws that screw the two halves together- widen the holes on the piece that will be on the bottom to 3mm (so the screw slides freely) and cut a thread in the other half - the one that will be on the top, to avoid the need to use nuts .. Or drill to 3mm and use M3x40 screws and a nut. FreeCad source file(s) included if someone wants to check it out and do modifications.
