HEVO Extruder with Dual RJ45 Mount - bltouch or piezo
thingiverse
This is a remix of a great extruder mount for the HEVO https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2617424 and an FT-5 Carriage - RJ45 x 2 round sensor Mount https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2569068, reworked to create a unique solution. I drew inspiration from the duct Hypercube-Evo fan duct for 70mm Hotend. I prefer vergienc's Precision Piezo mounts for the HEVO because they offer precise mounting points for the Precision Piezo as oval ones give me nothing but issues. I've been considering an 'easily' exchangeable head' using RJ45 cable, allowing for quick and simple changes. Do NOT connect your hotend heater as the wire is far too thin. For a reliable connection, use a breakout box like this one https://www.amazon.com/Ethernet-Connector-Breakout-Board-terminals/dp/B01BAHLWZ8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1529545677&sr=8-2&keywords=dual+rj45+breakout&dpID=41Cx6pIsPQL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch. Finally, I've figured out how to mount the board at the back of the extruder, so I've abandoned v1.x completely. The extruder is printed with supports, while the duct is printed without supports. This is version 2.0. Reworked to move the fan from the back of the extruder to the front, allowing me to relocate the RJ45 board to the back - which was my original intention. The spacer part provides extra space if you need to move the back solder points of the RJ45 board away from the nut/bolt hat holds the fan in place. The duct has some room for adjustment to accommodate different hotend lengths. I've created a BLtouch version with varying adapter lengths and bltouch heights to cater to print differences.
