Heusinkveld Sprint Tilton Style Pedal Plates
thingiverse
I love my Heusinkveld Sprint pedals but the large and rather flat pedal plates that come with them were not to my liking. I am a big fan of the curved Tilton style pedal pads and set out to design some for my pedals. I feel like these pedals give me much better indexing of the ball of my foot for consistent placement every time. With the addition of the grip tape it seems I am much more relaxed in my lower leg as I am sure that my foot will not slip off the pedal. If printed correctly with the right material, they are very robust and fit great. A couple of tips on attachment hardware and grip tape material. * I would recommend using an M4 x 16mm cap head screw with a normal M4 washer (Mine are 8.8mm OD). Each pedal boss is setup to accept the hardware mentioned here so you will need three washers and three cap head screws. You can re-use the M4 nylock nut that comes with the pedals. * I would recommend some type of grip tape to cover the pedal surfaces, it allows you to relax your lower leg a bit more as there is little chance of your foot slipping off. I have been using the following product from 3M and it has not come off or slipped on the pedals yet. Make sure to clean the pedal face really well with high content alcohol (90%+ iso or denatured) * https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0026SZJU0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ***Update Summary*** * 07/29/2020 * Updated both pedal designs to have a 12.5mm anti-rotation pocket length with a slight chamfer of the top and bottom edges of the pocket that interface with the pedal arm. Previously length was 12.75mm and allowed too much rotation of the pedal.
