This is a Lithophane and matching self-contained lighted frame. Everything is printed, and all you need to do is add your own LEDs and you're ready to go. Two versions of the frame are included - please read below to determine which one to use. Before I proceed, please take note of these important details about the frame: - Your printer must be capable of printing at least 195mm in one direction for the solid frame version. The space required for the multiple-piece version is smaller, but you still need at least 180mm tall for the lithophane itself. - Your printer should be reasonably calibrated for accuracy, as the tolerances for all frame parts are tight to prevent light leaks. If your printer is slightly off, you may need to do some sanding to get everything to fit together properly. - You will need four M2x20 screws for assembly. I recommend threading the front insert holes before assembly. Difference in the frames: There are two versions of the frame included. - The first version consists of three parts (main body frame, front insert, and back insert). Use this one if you prefer the sides of your frame to be layer lines or if your printer is not extremely accurate. I also suggest using this one if you're not printing on a glass bed. - The second version has Glass_V1 in the file name. This one is designed to print each side of the frame that you will see once assembled face down on the bed, resulting in a shiny smooth surface from the glass bed. This one has more parts to assemble. If you decide to use this one, I recommend using Slic3r with your bottom pattern set to Hilbert Curve. Here is a video of the frame done like that so you can see why I suggest this: https://youtu.be/yxFwrBVTHbk Lighting: For the LEDs, I used LED tape cut into sections and placed directly on the back facing straight through the litho. There are many other ways to go about doing it though, so be creative. For best results, whatever you use, keep the lighting evenly spaced to cover the whole lithophane. Color: To make your lithophane color like mine in the thing pics, you will need to use the included .jpg marked COLORSHEET. Print this picture without changing the size (it's already sized perfectly to the lithophane) on clear transparency sheets. Note that you must get transparency sheets made for your printer type - they are not interchangeable at all! Once you have it printed, cut it out keeping the gray edge. This matches the border on the lithophane and will hold the color sheet in the frame against the litho.
