Big fan of the OpenRC tractor. Burning up gears was my problem due to the drive gear slipping off the motor shaft all the time. My solution was to enlarge the load gears retaining ring to meet the back of the wheel, keeping it firmly in place. Next, I switched to a herringbone gear to help keep the drive gear in its proper position. So far, so good - my fix seems to be working for me, and hopefully, this will help someone else out too.
