Herps Castle - Reptile Hide with Lift-Out Top
thingiverse
Changelog: 2.0 - Completely rebuilt from original castle design. The exterior now measures 200mm by 103mm. The arch and interior height have been increased to 51mm. Some clipping artifacts were removed, while possibly adding new ones. The arch is now semi-octagonal, which should make it easier to print supports. Our redfoot hatchlings are struggling to fit through the doorway of their store-bought enclosure. Rather than making adjustments like a logical person, I decided to spend several hours designing a printable alternative. I worked with @Zivbot's castle generator for a while and came up with a simple, compact octagonal castle design. It was then scaled down to fit 10-15 gallon aquariums or terrariums. A large arch was cut into one of the wall sections to accommodate entry. A roof was added across the courtyard and then removed, allowing for a handle to be included so that you can lift the top off without lifting the entire enclosure. Dimensions: External: 200mm (7.9") in diameter by 103mm (4") Internal: 148mm (5.8") in diameter by 51mm (2") Lid: 165mm (6.5") in diameter with a 15mm (0.6") center handle The lid is an octagonal shape, measuring 6.4" wide. An older version of this design is available for download as a zip file. It has the following dimensions: external 205mm x 88mm, internal 150mm x 36mm, and features a curved arch.
