Heroquest - Treasure Chest

Heroquest - Treasure Chest

thingiverse

We needed a simple Heroquest accessory replacement - somehow our duplicate lost half its treasure chest. That's the new one we found, since spending $3 on the full set and another $4 for shipping from eBay made no sense. The rising cost of eBay's shipping/handling fees is mind-boggling! Combine two of these parts with a cardstock or paper texture overlay of your preferred treasure chest pattern - Kev's Lounge Paper Prints offers some amazing options in their Dungeon Furniture Pack. Print them at 2:1 scale to get a good representation. This version even has the hole for that small barrel bracket used to hold the box sides together, though it's not really necessary if you're gluing everything into place without any additional support - toothpicks have been a suitable substitute when needed in other designs. We had great results printing this model on its back without supports, taking under 15 minutes with good adhesion. I used acetone to soften the rivets since they tend to get rounded on our original print. This design can also be an excellent learning tool for kids on the basics of precision and using digital calipers - make necessary modifications in Tinkercad according to your card stock thickness.
