HeroQuest Character Organizer
thingiverse
This project is a character organizer for the game HeroQuest, recently re-released by Hasbro: https://hasbropulse.com/products/heroquest-game-system These organizers will keep your character, dice, sheets and cards all together in a nice leather-bound "book"! Magnets are 6mm x 1.5mm discs, glued in place. **Note**: Be sure to mirror the stamp before printing so that logo is reversed! For leather, you can try 2/3 oz. vegetable-tanned leather and then dyed your color of choice. I used 3/4 oz. when I built this one and it ends up a little too stiff—it doesn't want to lie flat on a table when opened. For the little flap on the left I used a softer piece of oiled deer leather. For stamping, you dampen the leather a little and then clamp the stamp for 5 minutes. Here's a tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcj00De1Gso I used original Gorilla Glue to attach the frame pieces to the leather (be careful near the edges of the spine or you'll get some squeeze out which looks kind of gross when you open the book, see photo above). I cut the leather over-sized and then got it wet and molded it to the shape of the inserts, see this video for a tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inzmeC4MxEs I left the frame and leather together to dry and keep the shape over night. I then glued in the left and right halves into the leather, then clamped to a workbench for a few hours. Then the leather was cut to size, and you can use the now-glued insert as the guide to cut it perfectly. Dye the leather, then burnish the edges. Ready for play!
