Heron guard for ponds
thingiverse
In my area, every summer is a struggle to keep fish eating birds like herons out of the pond. Non of the commercial available solutions to scare them worked and I was tired to have my pond been eaten empty in just a few days. Hanging a net over the pond or fencing the pond was in my opinion too intrusive and takes away the fun of having a fish pond. I therefore came up with this floating grid that keeps the herons from reaching towards the fish and is discrete enough to not spoil the view of the pond. It is actually almost invisible. Make sure you print with low infill % like max 15, which will imprison air in the object, thus enhancing floatability even more. The provided clips just snap on the grid onto the little rounded parts. The small grids fit in the holes between the assembled hexagones. Black color filament is the best in my opinion.
