Updated Mar 3rd, 2019: Now version 6. Improved duct outlet to direct air flow straight to the nozzle tip. Increased space for wires. Stronger OEM 4010 fan mount points improved. Air exhaust ports added on each side to enhance heat sink airflow. This Hero Plus ver6 works seamlessly with both OEM hot-end and MicroSwiss hot-end. It offers more clearance for larger cooling fins. There are three versions available: No ABL (manual leveling) Adjustable BLTouch EZABL from TH3DStudios.com This Hero Plus version 6 is a single, sturdy piece with a robust mount block attachment. Print the Hero Plus with the backside down on the build plate. Supports are necessary, but only from the build plate itself. Setup requires complete disassembly of the hot-end from the X gantry, allowing for pre-assembly in the shroud and subsequent mounting all at once. The key to mounting it to the gantry is to remove the front fan first, then screw the hot-end to the bracket through the fan duct while everything else is assembled. Parts Cooling Duct Height Placement When the hot-end nozzle touches the build plate, the bottom of the part cooling duct should be between 1mm and 2mm above the build plate (depending on your hot-end and nozzle shape/size). You want the ducts to blow air at the base of the nozzle. The lower the better, but not so low as to catch on printed parts. I set mine to about 1.2mm - 1.4mm above the bed. For the BLTouch, it's -36 X and -14 Y. Added adapter ring STL file for use with the EZABL Mini, which is only 12mm in diameter. Print two: one for the top and one for the bottom.
