Hero Me Gen5 for Geeetech A30

thingiverse

This is a custom design specifically created for the Geeetech A30 printer equipped with E3D Volcano (V6) and BMG direct drive, which is a right-handed setup. For users who have the opposite setup, they can simply mirror it in their slicer. This design was initially developed for the E3D Volcano, but with slight adjustments to the mounting bolts or steel plate, it can also be used for the E3D V6. However, it's worth noting that the original A30 heatsink requires a different base plate, which is not currently available. One issue with this design is that the auto leveling probe does not work well with the latest firmware version, and even when paused, it doesn't function properly. As a result, there is no attachment point for it in this design. To assemble this printer, users will need to use the following STL files from the original Hero Me v5: - Hero_Me_Gen5_Base_3.stl - HMG5_E3D_V6-Clone_Collar.stl - 5015_Single_Radial_Fan_Dual_Ducts.stl However, it's worth noting that HMG5_E3D_V6-Clone_Air_Dam.stl is not suitable for the Geeetech A30 gantry. While this part is not crucial to the functioning of the printer, users can choose to print it or skip it. If users want to use the original axial fan with a reduction, they will need to prolong the cable as well. To assemble the printer, users will also need some additional parts, including: - 2x M3 bolts (6mm to 8mm) for the base plate - 2x M3 bolts (8mm to 10mm) for the ducts - 2x M3 bolts (8mm to 10mm) for the extra base plate fastening - 4x M3 hex nuts - M3 bolts and hex nuts for cooling fans, which will depend on the specific fan used.
