HERO 2000 robot encoder wheel
thingiverse
This is a replacement encoder wheel for the HERO 2000 robot, designed to be compatible with four arm units and three base motor units. The encoder wheels also work seamlessly on the Arm Trainer Base that utilizes the same arm mechanism. Over time, many of these encoder wheels have become damaged or lost due to wear and tear. Fortunately, you can now print your own replacement encoder wheel with ease. If you require assistance in restoring one of these arms to its former glory or need help with the robot itself, feel free to reach out. I possess an abundance of original parts as well as upgrades for them, along with expertise in documentation and repairs. Print Settings: Printer: PowerSpec 3D Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 30% Notes: I have achieved excellent results printing these encoder wheels in ABS on glass using an extruder temperature of 230 degrees Celsius and a bed temperature of 100 degrees Celsius. The design includes extra top and bottom shells to ensure the encoder portion is filled with 100% infill, while maintaining a regular infill setting of 30% for the rest of the part. A concentric exterior fill pattern has been specified for a clean appearance. I highly recommend utilizing a glass build plate as it yields perfectly flat results. If you're comfortable using PLA, there's no reason why these encoder wheels shouldn't work seamlessly. Post-Printing: Prior to installation, perform part cleanup. You may need to lightly deburr the inside of the D-shaped hole for the shaft, but otherwise, this should fit snugly onto the motor shaft without any issues. Use of the metal spring clip from the original encoder is optional, so if you're missing the wheels and don't have that spring clip, you shouldn't require it. Design Process: This design was created using TinkerCad, requiring a few revisions to achieve the perfect center hole and hub size. The final result works exceptionally well.
