Hercules and the golden apples of the Hesperides
myminifactory
For his eleventh task, Eurystheus commissioned Heracles to retrieve the golden apples from the Garden of the Hesperides, situated near the Atlas Mountains and heavily guarded by a massive serpent. The labor was now complete. Hercules (Heracles) proudly held the fruit in his left hand, with the strap from his quiver crossing his body at an angle. In the top-right corner, partially concealed among the leaves, was a fragment of an arrow: the one that had taken down the formidable serpent.
