This are some add-ons for a hydroponic system called Herbert that can be found on Kickstarter by that name. Update 03/20/19: New, more stable, and better printable sponge holder designs have been added for the original sponge: HerBrickSpongeHolderV8 _latestForOriginalSponges.stl. Additionally, there is a new design available for the alternative RootRiot sponge: HerBrickSpongeHolderVb_forRootRiotSponges.stl. Both designs utilize the same inlay, which can be found in HerBrickInlay2.stl. Update 01/26/19: A new sponge holder has been added (two versions): I designed a replacement sponge holder consisting of two parts: an inlay that fixes the sponge holder into the slot at Herbert and the sponge holder inserted into the inlay. The inlay also supports transparent caps used for germination, which would otherwise fall down often. These files include HerBrickInlay2.stl and HerBrickSpongeHolderV2.stl. This replacement design features a handle that allows for easy removal of the complete assembly (inlay, sponge-holder, sponge, and plant) for adding water, maintenance, or rearranging plants. A direct replacement has also been added that locks into the snaps at the slots; this can be found in the file spongeHolder.stl. Initial post: Tools are available to cover a sponge slot, a cap to cover the very bright status LED at the front, and a support to prevent transparent sponge slot covers from falling down. All parts can be 3D printed or laser cut. The cap support can be inserted between the sponge holder and the recess in which the sponge holder is inserted. Push the sponge holder with one finger to the upper wall that opens enough play at the bottom to insert the cap support. With the cap support, the transparent cap is fixed in a way that it doesn't fall down even if you knock on the front of that HerBrick row (without giving it a sharp peek, otherwise it's down). The LED cap can be fixed by inserting it between the case and the front panel. The status LED remains visible through the cap, including the status color; brightness could be varied by infill and filament color.
