Herakles as Pugilist
myminifactory
This head originated from a statue that portrayed Herakles, the renowned Greek hero and boxer, in the midst of combat. As the largest of all Greek heroes and an Olympian champion, Herakles was also the illegitimate son of Zeus, born to Alcmene, a mortal woman. Hera's disdain for him was evident due to his mother's status. In contemporary references, he is commonly referred to as Hercules, a name derived from the Roman adaptation of his Greek moniker.
