Hera, born to Kronos and Rhea, was Zeus's wife and sister, alongside Demeter, Hestia, Hades, and Poseidon. After Kronos swallowed them, Rhea hid Hera with Oceanus and Tethys. Prior to Titanomachy, Hera participated in resolving disputes between her relatives. Hera secretly married Zeus for 300 years before their public union in Knossos. She bore him Ares, Ilithyia, and Hephaestus; the latter, according to Homer, was fathered by Zeus. Hera allegedly gave birth to Ares without her husband's involvement, using a flower from Chloris. In another version, she birthed Hephaestus independently as retaliation for Zeus producing Athena alone. Additionally, Hera gave birth to Arge and Iris, and in Olena hymn, it is claimed that she was raised by the Orases while her children, Ares and Hebe, were attended by the same caretakers.
