The Henry Moore is a bronze maquette, or (or model) for a large stone carving, called Stone Memorial, dating from 1961. Ten maquettes were made. The final sculpture, Stone Memorial, is in The National Gallery, Washington DC (USA). Henry Moore (1898 -1986) was one of Britain’s more important sculptors, who worked from his studio at Perry green, Hertfordshire.
