Henry Grattan, a renowned Irish statesman and fierce advocate for Irish legislative autonomy, met with Turnerelli during the sculptor's visit to Tinnahinch in County Carlow. According to reports, the bust was crafted in just eleven hours and received high praise from Antonio Canova as one of the finest modern busts he had seen in Britain. The 8th Lord Kinnaird commissioned this piece for his collection of political radicals at Rossie Priory in Perthshire. This object is part of "Scan The World".
