The artist Henry Fuseli of Switzerland (1741-1825) was a painter known for his powerful works that featured heroic, literary, and surreal themes. From 1779 on, he began showcasing works of significant psychological depth and strength, such as 'The Nightmare' (1781). Although his radical politics were well-known, he held the position of professor at the Royal Academy where he taught artists like Constable, Haydon, and Lawrence. The Greek text inscribed on its base translates to 'Behold that which we now suppose is'. This object forms part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory.
