sketchfab
The white marble sculpture, standing approximately 4.50 meters tall (including the base), portrays King Henry IV (1553-1610). Commissioned by King Louis Philippe, it is situated on Royal Square in Pau and was unveiled in 1842 (M.DCCC.XLII).\nNicolas Bernard Raggi (1750-1862) designed the statue itself, but Antoine Etex (1808-1888) created the base and bas-reliefs. The front of the base features an inscription: “Lou nouste Henric” Henrico nostro pia nepotis augusti munificentia redivivo., which translates to "We are Henri".
