HengeDock/Brydge vertical dock magsafe power adapter for retina macbook pro
thingiverse
I recently acquired a vertical dock for my 2013 retina MacBook Pro and was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of it, except for one critical issue - the way the power adapter was secured. Unfortunately, it just didn't work as intended. Every time I attempted to dock my MBP, the MagSafe connector would simply push down and fail to connect properly. To resolve this problem, I fabricated a custom printed part that solved the issue. It required a few iterations of trial and error, as the hole is not symmetrical - the slot must be oriented towards the other ports, as depicted in the accompanying image. I'm hopeful that sharing my experience will assist others who may encounter similar difficulties!
