Hemnes drawer support / Schubladen Stütze
thingiverse
I have two early versions of the Hemnes cupboard, one with three drawers and the other with five. These initial models lacked the support features that were introduced later on, so they can handle heavier items. I had a drawer that always came apart because too heavy objects were placed inside. Instead of pleading with Ikea to provide me with the missing support elements - even though I own an older version, which they might or might not grant - I came up with an alternative solution. To implement this fix, you'll need to print two specific parts (easy to print as long as you ensure proper alignment), obtain a 10x10mm aluminum rod (available at your local department store for a low price), and cut it to 43.2cm in length. Then, attach the printed parts to the rod and screw them into the drawer using a countersunk screw with a diameter of 3 or 4mm and a maximum length of 20mm.
