Welcome to Amsterdam! This incredible model was crafted by MiniWorld 3D collaborator Bart Tangermann, also known as De 3D Printman. Located in Zaandam, the Hemkade is an event location with a rich history. The building's name comes from its address, Hemkade 48, and has been hosting large-scale events and parties since 1994. With a capacity for 4,000 visitors, it has become a popular venue for various celebrations. The Hemkade's story began in 1947 when an old industrial building was constructed on Hemkade 48 to produce oil barrels. Designed by the Amsterdam School architects, who specialized in creating factory buildings during World War I and II, this historic structure boasts a unique style. In 1980, Bruynzeel took over the building and used it as a factory for manufacturing doors. In 1985, the Hemkade was transformed into a sports center with squash courts at its rear. However, from 1994 onwards, it has been primarily used as an event location. During its early years, hardcore parties such as Thunderdome and Hellbound were held within its walls. As the years passed, the big boom of hardcore faded away in 1998, making way for the rise of trance music. In 1999, the Royal Edition Beatrix flyer created a buzz on Queen's Day, featuring the queen in a daring outfit. This marked the beginning of Qlass Elite, now known as Q-dance, which organized old-skool parties at the Hemkade that year. The building also became home to the controversial fetish party Wasteland. By 2000, the Hemkade had solidified its reputation as a hardcore temple when it hosted trance party High Energy, featuring renowned DJs Tiësto and Armin van Buuren, along with technology festival Awakenings. MiniWorld 3D is thrilled to bring this historical model to life as a tribute to all the people of The Netherlands.
