Helping the "helping hands".
thingiverse
Every crafter has one of those affordable "helping hands" with magnifier bases. They are fantastic except for one issue. They tend to topple over easily. So here is a simple base that widens the footprint of the helping hands making it virtually impossible to tip over. You can simply rotate the arms 180 degrees to remove the helping hands from the base, tool-free. I prefer M3-0.5 T10 screws so the arms are designed to fit the head of that screw. Most pan-style head screws should work just fine. Link to the Helping Hands used: http://amzn.to/1TQV8rU Link to M3-0.5 16mm T10 screws: http://amzn.to/1OmL46g
