Helping Hands - Post

thingiverse

Here is the original text rewritten: I took what BManx2000 had done on thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2541970) and modified it to create a standalone unit. The ball and socket design was copied directly from his other project (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2539262). Printing everything in PLA yielded good results, but I experienced some issues with the sockets splitting during assembly. Adding a tiny bit of lubrication helped prevent this problem completely. To print the post successfully, I recommend printing it with supports all over to ensure that the balls are fully supported by the base plate. After removing the supports, sand the areas where they touched to create a smooth surface for easy assembly and optimal function. I've included the step file so you can modify it to fit your specific needs.
