Version 3 of my motorcycle helmet mount securely fastens underneath shelving units directly into the wood, eliminating the need to drill holes into walls. My helmets rest approximately a quarter inch from the edge of the shelving, anchored by two standard 1 1/2" to 1 3/4" screws.
