This mount replaces the one that comes with typical bicycle helmet mirrors, while providing an extension more suitable for motorcycle helmets.I sanded the base to match the contour of the side of my motorcycle helmet. Then I glued the base to my helmet (using E6000) and let it cure 48 hours.After verifying the mirror rod slides into the base, I used a drop of cyanoacrylate on the end of the rod before inserting it at the desired angle.UPDATE 2/22/2024: I subsequently replaced my helmet mirror with the one I posted at:https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6498538
