Helmet headgear adapter/standoff
thingiverse
I designed a large Spartan helmet that was quite heavy and unwieldy, requiring a way to steady it on the wearer's head. I found welding headgear that seemed like it would do the trick, but needed a way to mount it into my helmet. I heat-staked in a threaded insert (either M6 or 1/4-20), epoxied the standoffs to the inside of the helmet, and then bolted in the headgear. This setup should work well with just about any helmet as long as there is enough clearance on the inside to make it work. You may need to adjust the length of the standoff depending on the width inside the helmet. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B004RIFGE6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Let me know what you think and post your makes! Thanks!
