I wanted to squeeze a Baofeng two-way radio kit into a Chinese fighter pilot helmet. The helmet came with soft earmuffs that didn't seem very soundproof at first glance. So, I created these custom pieces in TPU material to replace the originals. The open version has a press-fit plug/cap with a groove for the speaker wires - a clever design feature that makes it easy to install the new components. I reused the original muff covers to maintain the helmet's original look and feel. A hint for others: GoPro sticky pads work wonderfully well as boom microphones.
