Helmchen: Alternative Quadrysteria QR200 Pod
thingiverse
UPDATE3: swapped out the LED strip for a high-definition cam mount. UPDATE2: added stabilizing bars to version 3, allowing you to print this canopy with TPU material now that it's no longer too wobbly. UPDATE1: modified the nose section to take hits better. I had some spare QR200 frames lying around and created a pod. This design is very specific to the hardware I had on hand, particularly the FPV camera. The Runcam pz0420m fits exactly into the canopy's nose section. My copter's parts list includes: QR200 base plate 4x M3 screws 4x M3 nuts 1x pz0420m 4x EMAX RS2205 motors 4x Racerstar BLHeli_S 20A ESCs 3x RGB LED strips 1x SpracingF3 FC 1x 12+5V PDB 1x X4R-SB receiver 1x TBS Unify Pro 1x 5.8GHz Aomway antenna 1x lipo strap 4x 5040x3 propellers The first test shows the machine flying fine and feeling tough. Since parking deck rampage season is starting, I'll see in a few weeks if it lives up to its promise. You can download my FreeCAD project files so you can make changes, updates, and improvements as you like! Print Settings: Printer: Kodama Trinus Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 20% Notes: Choosing the right filament is crucial. Simple PLA gives you a sturdy pod that will crack on first impact. I chose NinjaTek Armadillo because its specs sound almost perfect, and I like to try out new things. It's oozing like hell while printing, so I'll have to add more retraction, but for now, I just wanted to finish the print and fly. The resulting pod looks promising, but most probably TPU would have been fine too. I printed it upside down to get a precise camera mount without supports. Maybe it will work downside up as well. My printing bed is 12x12cm, and it fits exactly when printed diagonally. Post-Printing: Screw and solder everything together, then go rip some balls! How I Designed This: FreeCAD, caliper, and a free pz0420m model.
