I'm excited to continue working on my Hellboy belt project. The locator is a crucial part of it, and I've designed this model specifically for that purpose. To assemble the locator, you'll need to attach two small aluminum rods to the front and two to the sides - once done, it will easily fit onto any belt and stay securely in place. For my own version, I hollowed out the interior and added a switch to turn the light on and off. My son asked me to create an Abe Sapien locator as well (he affectionately calls him "the fish man"). So, I thought it would be cool if the switch goes up one way and the light turns red; the other way blue. If you need the wiring schematics, I can provide them - but trust me, it's a straightforward process. To make the switch, I used copper rods and laser-cut a sheet of copper to create the contacts. This project is a blank canvas just waiting for your creativity. Below is a link to see my locator in action. In this updated version, I've added an Arduino Pro Mini 328 board to detect who's wearing the tracker. If you have a beacon transmitting that you're Abe Sapien, the light turns blue - if it's Hellboy, it's red, and so on. It's been a fun project to work on, and I'm excited to see what you'll create!
