Easter Egg decoration done with a modern twist on Faberge egg design. Print Settings Rafts: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm layer or better Notes: Orient the egg straight up and use a large raft (25 mm offset) so the egg doesn't tip over when printing. At 0.2mm layer height or better, no supports are needed and overhangs should be okay. 0.8 mm walls are enough; infill is not required. How I Designed This I used Solidworks to design a 3D Helix Sweep. A revolved surface using an outline sketch of egg shape was created. A helix 3d sketch through the center axis was made. A new surface was swept using a line sketch on helix path. Surface intersection sketch between egg surface and helical surface becomes a helix path sketch wrapping around egg shape. A circular profile was swept around the new egg helix, creating one 'weave'. A circular pattern of five weaves was created around the central axis.
