Alternative mounting plate for Helios 44m-4 lens conversion May or may not fit other revisions of this lens model. Carefully unscrew four screws at the rear of the lens to remove M42 mounting bracket. Unscrew center lens element. Be cautious not to get any dust inside. Slide over 1.5mm spacer ring and screw back in place. Use hobby knife to adjust screwholes for a precise fit. Screw down rear plate using original screws, ensuring they don't stick out excessively. Now you should be able to focus slightly past infinity on Nikon F cameras. This modification is non-destructive and fully reversible. It also features manual aperture control via ring adjustment. First example picture was taken at f2; the second at f5.6.
