Helios-44-2 58mm f/2 Vintage Lens Rehousing EF mount Conversion & Compact version
thingiverse
This custom lens re-housing is optimized for "Helios-44-2 58mm f/2 (M42 mount)". The history, features and specifications of this famous Russian lens are very well known, so there is no need to add a description. This lens housing has a front diameter of 95mm and the focal gear is also applied with a 0.8M standard gear pitch applied to cinema lenses. (Focus & aperture gear Outer diameter 81.6mm / 100T) The design of this lens housing is more convenient to use in combination with a follow focus device. It can be a little inconvenient to operate the focus ring by hand. Designed to be secured using M4 standard grub screws (22 pcs.) and M4 *12mm standard screws(4 pcs). The filter step-up ring used on the front is designed for easy use of regular circular filters. (Front standard filter mounting screw, maximum 82mm, variable ND filter can be used up to 77mm) I'm tired of repeating similar modeling every time, so I'd like to apply experimental and practical ideas one by one. (Of course, it can be roughly finished as a side effect.) This time (some lenses that have trouble connecting and using polarizing filters or matte boxes due to the rotation of the front of the lens) I wanted to try a design that improves the lens front so that it does not rotate. (Helios-44-2 is not this type of lens, but there is currently no suitable lens in my list of lenses) and I also considered a lens housing in a way that is not affected by the length change of the front of the lens due to the focusing operation. This is not an inner focus lens structure in an optical sense, but it can be expected to play a role in mitigating changes in the length and center of gravity of the lens according to focusing operation.
