thingiverse
This custom lens housing is specifically designed for the Helios-44-2 58mm f2, which comes in several variations including the 44M, 44-2 and 44-4. However, due to differences in the shape or position of the aperture adjustment ring, this housing may not be compatible with all versions. The history, features and specifications of this iconic Russian lens are well-documented, so there's no need for additional explanation. Although it wasn't my personal favorite lens, many people requested a cine rehousing of this lens, so I purchased a new one from Russia. After a lengthy wait, the parcel finally arrived a few days ago. The aperture adjustment ring is located on the front of the lens, and its compact design makes it ideal for retrofitting to PL mounts. The process of switching to the PL mount was quite fascinating, and I had a great time doing it. To share this experience with others, I created a video showcasing the process. To ensure the completeness of the Lens re-housing, it is recommended to purchase and use some pre-made metal components. While 3D printing lacks durability and stability, several key parts are essential for the device's functionality. These include grub screws (M4 x 3mm), an M42-EF conversion adapter, and a 49-82mm step-up filter ring. Required Parts: - 10 M4 x 3mm grub screws - M42-EF adapter - 49-82mm step-up ring(filter adapter) Upgrade 1: The design of the rear unit that converts the M42 mount to a PL mount has been redesigned for increased rigidity.
