Helicopter Automaton

Summary Section: The project replicates the movement of a helicopter as it flies in the air using 3D Automation. The Helicopter rotor spins as the person turns the handle as well as moves up and down. The overall dimensions of the project are 20 cm x 8 cm x 16 cm. This automaton was a lot of fun to design and assemble. After building the first revision of the assembly, I realized that there were many different ways to change the assembly such as customizing the look of the helicopter as well as changing up the colors so that it looked more appealing. Through creating this project, I significantly improved my Solidworks skills as well as my approach to design. If you want a cool automaton that uses rotational cams to show off to your friends and family, I am sure that our helicopter will not disappoint :). Building this helicopter automaton was a team project. I worked with Nivia Wilson to plan, sketch, create and assemble this automaton.
