Helicoids: half and full twist
thingiverse
Here is a model of part of a helicoid defined by the parametric equations x(t) = u*cos(t), y(t) = u*sin(t), and z(t) = 2t/3, where the parameter u ranges from -1 to 1. The parameter t spans between 0 and Pi for a half-twist, or extends to 2Pi for a full twist. This model was meticulously designed and printed by WLU summer research student Emily Jaekle ('16).
