Helfende Hand Basis (Helping Hand Base)
thingiverse
I developed this Helpful Hand Basis so I can attach it to my table. In the middle, there's a hole and a recess for an M5 hex screw. On the tabletop, I installed an M5 countersink nut. Whenever I need the base, I simply screw it onto the tabletop and then remove it again:) Of course, you can install the countersink nut at other locations or directly screw it onto the surface (e.g., workbench) with a different screw. As an "addon," I created a matching cable tie help that you can screw into the base when needed. The cable tie help is also equipped with two holes for 3 and 5mm LEDs. This makes it easy to solder cables to the LEDs. Up to eight arms can be screwed onto the base. I personally use three arms (two for soldering and one for light). In addition, I always have the cable tie help mounted. The base is designed so that you can guide cables (for lighting, fans, or similar) through the arms and down through the base. UPDATE: With version 2 of the base, you can unscrew the arms even if cables have been routed through them. The interior surface of the base can be used as a storage area for small parts. See pictures. The base is 12cm from side to side. You're welcome to leave comments with criticism, praise, or suggestions for improvement.
