The USS Helena (CL-50) was a St. Louis-class light cruiser serving with the United States Navy during World War II. She engaged in combat during the attack on Pearl Harbor and played a key role in the Guadalcanal campaign before sinking on July 6, 1943, in the Battle of Kula Gulf. On March 24, 2018, Paul Allen's research vessel Petrel located the wreckage of Helena lying on the ocean floor off the Solomon Islands coast.
